One of the coolest new manga series out there.

This is actually a pretty cool manga. I picked up the first volume out of curiosity, and after reading that (it's in the true right-to-left style, as it should be) I found that I couldn't wait for volume two. Got that, and the following volume three, and now Princess Ai is my second favorite manga series ever.
The story is as follows...
It starts on the streets of Tokyo (Japan, although if you didn't know that you must leave my site now) where Princess Ai wakes up in an alley with no memory other than that of her name and the fact she knows she's not from earth.

Volume One: Destitution, details her struggle to find out more about her life before waking up in the alley. During her stay in Tokyo she runs into a young college student named Kent (whom, may I say, is very cute!) who gives her a place to stay, in both his home and his heart. With Kent by her side she slowly regains some of her memories, and now she knows she's the daughter of the king of Ai-Land.
With this information in hand, Ai sets out to find more. She gets a job as a singer in the strip joint Club Cupid, and there she is found by Takeshi, talent scout for Hayabusa Talent Agency, the hottest talent agency in Japan. He tried to get her to sign with them, but she refuses.
Unbeknownst to Ai there is a revolution taking place in Ai-Land and the assassin Tess is sent to capture Ai and bring her back so she can be destroyed as the last member of the royal family.
Once she is attacked by Tess and she tears the top half of Ai's nightgown, Ai notices she has wings. She dosen't know where they came from or why, but once Kent tells her he thought they were beautiful, she accepted them for what they were.
So, in the end and although she fought it, Ai signes with H.T.A to protect herself and Kent from Tess. She decided then and there that she's going to stay away from Kent because she doesn't want him hurt, although it hurts both of them to be apart.

Volume Two: Lumination picks up right where volume one left off, and shows us Ai in her role as H.T.A's new diva. I don't want to say too much about this one because I don't want to spoil any more, but trust me, this one is so much better than the first, and the first was awesome to begin with!

Volume Three: Evolution brings the series to an amazing and resounding close, fitting of the manga in a wonderful way. DJ Milky's songs combine with Kujiradou-san's gorgeous arkwork to create one of the greatest manga's I've ever read.
